Odds Bet (Craps)
A zero house edge bet placed behind a Pass/Come or Don't Pass/Don't Come bet.
The Odds bet is the only bet in the casino with zero house edge. It's placed behind your Pass Line or Come bet after a point is established, and it pays at true odds (2:1 on 4/10, 3:2 on 5/9, 6:5 on 6/8).
Casinos limit the size of Odds bets (typically 3x-5x your line bet, sometimes 10x or 100x). The more you can put behind the line in Odds, the lower the combined house edge on your total action.
At 3x-4x-5x Odds (a common structure), the combined house edge on Pass Line + Odds drops to about 0.37%. At 100x Odds (rare but offered at some casinos), it's about 0.02% — practically free.
