GPP tournaments are the bread and butter of DFS. Unlike cash games (50/50, head-to-head) where roughly half the field wins, GPPs pay out the top 15-25% of entries with heavily top-weighted prizes. Winning a GPP requires a different strategy: high upside, contrarian picks, and correlation between lineup spots. The guaranteed prize pool means the contest runs even if it does not fill completely, sometimes creating overlay (more prize money than entries justify).
