Betr Picks

Betr Picks is the daily fantasy pick'em vertical of Betr Holdings, the media-plus-gambling company co-founded in 2022 by boxer/YouTuber Jake Paul and media executive Joey Levy. Regulatory Reality

This is the load-bearing section for every pick'em review. Betr Picks, along with PrizePicks and Underdog, was explicitly named in the Florida Gaming Control Commission cease-and-desist letters issued in September 2023, forcing it out of Florida by March 1, 2024 (Betr has since partially returned as a peer-to-peer product). Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell's office sent cease-and-desist letters to ten pick'em operators including Betr in early 2024, and the product now runs peer-to-peer in MA. New York's Gaming Commission rules against proposition-mimicking DFS contests took effect in 2024 and Betr Picks is blocked there. Arkansas and Ohio have also challenged the pick'em model, and California's Attorney General issued an opinion in 2023 that player-versus-house DFS is unlawful sports betting — litigation is ongoing. Treat Betr Picks' state map as a moving target.

User Experience

The Betr Picks app is clean, quick and clearly built for mobile-first scrolling. Prop cards are easy to scan, the bet slip is responsive, and push notifications for boosted players land reliably. The app is a noticeable step behind PrizePicks in stat-line depth and behind Underdog in sheer contest volume, but ahead of smaller operators like Chalkboard or Vivid Picks in reliability.

The Bottom Line

Betr Picks is a capable secondary pick'em app with a real company behind it and reasonable product execution, but it is not the deepest or sharpest board in the category.
